What a strange mix. They've squeezed in 3 cabins as if it's competing on accomodation, but then they've massively restricted the space in the cockpit by having the slopey transom. It seems to have ended up neither practical cruiser, nor form over function up-market runabout. Not sure who's going to buy them?
 
I like the look of it.

And like the cockpit, though I would be interested to see down below. I guess it comes down to how much it costs and what it competes with.

Much better looking than the 42 and a real turning point for their mobo range.

On first sight, I would be tempted. I like it and three cabins are a real bonus with kids, even if you have two it stops the squabbles as they can have their own space.
 
Yep, just a shame that your family couldn't fit round the table for lunch, and that you couldn't invite any friends on board 'cos there's nowhere for them to sit, and that SWMBO can't catch a few rays after lunch 'cos there's no sunpad ...

I agree it looks nice (although when did you last see an artists impression that didn't), but it's ridiculous to have a 3 cabin boat with so little cockpit space IMO.
 
Hmm, ok so we are all going off and artists drawing and you're right of course its their jobs to make it look spectacular even if that means taking a few liberties.

But

There is a cockpit pic in the downloadable PDF (sdo cant post it here) that shows the U shaped seating to the stern that looks like it would seat 5 ish with another table opposit the helm on the port side which I guess would sit another 3-4.

Dunno, as you say its just a sketch but hopefully I will be going to Boot so will hunt this out and give some feedback. Its above my buying grade anyway, so as I customer I dont really factor. The boat is reminds me of is the Chris Craft Roamer, which wont be to everyones taste but I rather like for its subtly classic.retro styling

Can't access the pdf's, but does it clarify propulsion? Is it outdrives or IPS?

At a macro level this is a brave move. Should create interest but is it enough to fill what I estimate is a 500 to 1000 hole in their production schedule next year? Thoughts on a post card.
 
40 Roamer is lovely boat IMO
and built quality is not bad, I heard good words about this CC

I have the PDF and received it last week, while cockpit is not as bad as JFM says, it is not one of the best of the 46 footers around, 3 cabins bonus is noting special for a boat this length also
the picture design shows it as a stern drive... may be it is this option for the open version, ht targa version might be available in both, and FB will be IPS only, we have to wait for the propullsion
sterndrive is more efficient as what regards fuel consumption to IPS, about 10% better but on this size it will be a bit difficult in close quater manovring
 
Yup, first thing that struck me. The cockpit is tiny and where exactly are they going to hang the bimini? Looks nice but may not be the most practical thing on the water. Handrails would be nice but designers don't like them
 
That Roamer is a really nice looking boat IMHO. I particularly like the way the deckline sheers up towards the bow a little. Classy. Chris Craft are producing some good looking boats presently. Their Catalina range is gorgeous too
 
No, not anymore. It's Audi drivers now so it's pefectly OK to own a BMW now which is great because they were always the best cars in their class
