I have recently brought a Bavaria and have noticed that the internal light fittings are slightly discoloured and pitted.

I have phoned a Bavaria dealer and have just picked myself up from the floor when they told me the replacement price !! ouch

Does any one know were to purchase these elsewhere ?

Or is there a LED unit conversion or the same unit in LED ?

Regards

M.

Our 44 had side pin 10w G4 bulbs in switchable fittings. I tried a number of led replacements on ebay and settled on the surface mount type from Hong Kong. About $6 each including postage. Nearly as bright as the halogens and only 1w.

We removed and cleaned all ours (well M-i-Law cleaned them ... !! ) and then bought a couple of G4 LEDs from here - one 9LED the other 12 ... we need some 6LEDs for the cabins!!

I have just replaced G4 halogens with these bulbs.

The 16 LED square ones take a bit of space but the light output, while claimed to be 25W, is probably the same as the 20W halogens we replaced. Make sure if you use Searolf to get the right connections as some arrays have rear pins and others side pins.

Their MR16 48 LED bulbs http://www.searolf.com/page35.html are excellent for reading lamps.

Do get the warm white lights as the white are usually very 'cold' with a blue tint.

I am confused as to why there is a white sector straight ahead when I think it should be just red and green. Because the LED source is over a large area assuming you do have 360 degree lighting LED bulb the division of sectors becomes very blurred compared to the small area of a vertical filament.
