Does anybody know where I can hold of one of these (apart from SVB) ?

The item is reasonably priced but the flat rate shipping cost makes it too expensive. Any ideas ?

It may be worse than that! Unless SVB have sorted out how they are handling shipping to the Uk now - i tried to order something from them last year and they had a minimum order value (can’t remember what it was but over £100).

Depending on the age of your boat it could well be a Lewmar gear shift. I replaced mine last year and the supplier, who advertised on ebay also offered various spare parts.

The part number is “19629”. But I’m looking at sourcing a neoprene rubber ring elsewhere. You find just about anything online if you look hard enough !

I made my own from closed cell polyurethane- camper mat.

Any idea what the purpose of this part is? Mine has also perished but as I can't see the purpose of it I haven't bothered to replace it. Am I missing something?

I made equivalent with Tefelon tape wound around shaft until built up to size.
