Bavaria 50 cruiser 2005 ... hatch help!

I have a 12 year old Bavaria which requires a new hatch over the v berth. It’s a lewmar and measured 700mm by 700mm. I can’t seem to locate one. I’m told the biggest made was 698 x 698... anyone managed to replace their hatch ?

have you tried clipper marine? they usually have or can source all spares for Bavarias

although i would have thought it would be a standard size available from lewmar and other suppliers, at least Clipper Marine could tell you the part number if nothing else.

No. They directed me to a smaller size and I haven’t heard back from Bavaria. It seems to be a mystery so far.

What you want is a Lewmar MP70 hatch (specifically made for Bavaria).

Or you may get one cheaper if you call up Aquafax in Hamble.

I don’t suppose you are a bavaria 50 owner and can measure yours ? I’m certain my dimensions were over 700 either way...not 698 as the 70 says. My boat is hibernating in New Zealand so I can’t measure again,

Different hatch. The one the OP has isn't a flush hatch, it's a low profile one.

I have a 49, which has the smaller sized hatches. Give Lewmar a call and speak to someone in their technical depatment. They'll be able to give you the part number of the Bavaria 700 hatch, and then give Aquafax a call (Lewmar will probably be able to tell you if Aquafax have one).

Lewmar are also directing me to the 698 x 698 ... I’m unsure that’s the actual one. Unless mine has expanded a small amount over the years or my measuring tape is a couple of mm out,
