Hi
Can anyone help, please? I need to replace my Lewmar windlass wireless control fob but will need to pair it to the windlass receiver. Does anyone know where the receiver might be located on a Bavaria 30? The manual says it must be as far as possible from large metal masses (eg the anchor locker !), electrical motors or the windlass, and at least 1metre away from electrical wiring, navigational and radio equipment.
Any clues gratefully received!

Presumably it operates some hefty relays (so wants to be away from magnets) and so I would expect is close to the windlass, to minimise the number of heavy duty cables feeding the windlass (one pos, one neg going into the controller, up +, down +, neg coming out?). So I would expect it to be near the windlass - eg mine is in stbd forward locker above v berth. But mine is not wireless.

Wireless receiver does not need to be near the windlass, but near the control box.

Yes, but I would expect the control box to be near the windlass. I’ve sailed Bav32 and Bav36 (not wireless) and both had the control box in the forward cabin - don’t know if they were original factory installs though.

Factory installs have the control box aft by the chart table and switch panels on my 2001 37 and 2015 33. Not sure there was a factory windlass option on the 30, but if there was I would expect the same.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Found it! It was in a void, behind the seat back just forward of the chart table. It was well hidden, you have to be on your hands and knees to see it. It wasn’t a factory install, I found the installation invoice amongst the ship’s papers
