Battery temperature logging - where to put a thermometer?

Well that wasn't a great success... :rolleyes:

A fan blowing into the bottom of the battery box fitted yesterday lunchtime seems to have made no difference to the battery temperature, though just a tiny little CPU fan and I can't even feel the air coming out of the box.

Think we're gonna need a bigger fan... ;)

FWIW I was taught that it is more efficient to suck the hot air out for cooling in confined spaces.
In my youth I was into building very fast air cooled PC's when processors were very slow. Computer case temps were always lower when the majority of fans were set to expel the hot air rather than blow ambient air into the case.

@geen .
Tim I suppose you could just keep a spare bag of ice on top of the batteries , would that work? :)
I'm in the same situation an Mistroma we also sleep on our batteries but I figured out only having sex three times a week rather then five does keep the batteries 50% cooler . :)

Ah, that explains my misunderstanding. We probably spoke about cooling quite a while ago and I thought I heard you say "try weakly".

Three times a week puts a different complexion on it. :D

I fitted the fan upstream from the box because access was good and it was a straight run with a short piece of pipe. I also thought it was safer to blow fresh air towards the batteries than suck hydrogen towards the fan, even though it is a brushless design.

I was looking at it from the perspective of cooling efficiency rather than removing gas.
