anyone know wher I can buy a decent quality battery locally - at an equally decent discount? need a couple of 110 AH domestics for the boat.

I got my 110 amp from Discount Auto Spares in Caerphilly, a tad under 60 quid.

HGVs use deep cycle batterys for domestics,got to be cheaper than marine i would have thought.

I sailed to Watchet a couple of years ago and found the battery on my boat needed replacing. From memory I was quoted £69 for a replacement by the chandlers. I walked to a local caravan park and bought one for £48.

got 2 from supac (was celtic batteries ) in Dowlais. £75 for 110 AH Varta.

Lucas Rangers are good and reasonable price from lucas behind b&q just off penarth road. OR the caravan place on cowbridge road just down from the big b&q.

The caravan place no longer exists,they moved about some time ago,dont know where,they were quite handy for boaty stuff.
