Battery size for Perkins 4108

Arrived at the boat today to find the engine battery registering sub 9v. There is nothing connected to it and this is the second time in a couple of weeks so I think it has had its day. The current battery is 110ah type 663. Sadly I can't find any cranking information.

This seems ott for what I believe is an 1800cc diesel. Anyone have any suggestions as to the correct battery for this engine?

Any Battery recommended for a 2l diesel car will have enough CCA, but does not have to be as big capacity as 110AH. Around 70-80 will be more than enough. Assume you have an adequate charging system that ensures it is always recharged after every start and is used only for engine start.

663 is a popular truck, lorry and HGV Battery
Google will find the info (100 to 120Ah and around 700 CCA ) and suppliers for a direct replacement.

As Tranona suggests rather larger than you probably need.

Be sure what you buy has the correct terminal layout, ie left handed or right handed, if the lengths of the battery cables make this critical, as well as dimensions

I did not find them when I first looked but Tayna (my preferred battery supplier) also offer a range of 663 batteries https://www.tayna.co.uk/663-Commercial-Batteries-G138.html

644 are left handed if it matters
