During the storm last week my little dory was leaping around on the pontoon - had to double up the lines for safety.

Next time I tried to use it, the battery, which is pretty new and was fine a couple of days before, was almost completely flat.

Brought it home to charge and found the acid level too high - dribbled out as soon as I put it on charge.

I think some salt water must have got in.

Anybody know if this is terminal? ('Scuse pun)

You should take it immediately to a battery specialist, who may be able to save it by emptying it out, flushing it and refilling with water and then charging, or you could do this yourself, but if you've already charged it, all bets are off, it may be ok. But I wouldn't trust it from now on.
