battery draining how do i check???

[ QUOTE ]
can i use the same proccedure on a car??

[/ QUOTE ] Yes but there are various bits and pieces on modern cars that you won't be able to turn off. The clock, the radio memory, the central locking system the sensor that recognises the key probably, maybe others.

If you do try it make a point of doing it in the negative lead because thats the one that you should always disconnect first for safety reasons. It probably did not matter on the boat.

AND be sure you can reset anything that loses its memoryif disconnected.

On reflection probably best not to try. You wont know what sort of current to expect anyway.

And what exactly do you find unclear in Vic's explaination of how to carry out the check?
I thought it was extremely clear and easy to follow. I did not reply to the original post as my initial response was definitely "close to the bone", not even slightly "PC" and would probably have got me another "yellow card". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
