Battery desulphators and effect on solar panels

Following on from my previous post about de-sulphators and a very useful warning that LED's may not stand the transient over-voltages that the de-sulphators generate leads me to wonder if solar panels could be similarly harmed by the "reverse voltages" developed? Any thoughts on this from our resident electrickery experts?

Provided diodes are fitted to stop reverse flow at night, you won't have any problem.
 
I agree - just make sure that the solar panels have diodes fitted to them aqnd you should be fine - BUT if you a a regulator between the panels and the batteries you need to talk to the regulator manufacturer
