Hi Can anyone tell me how to connect the charging leads from my Honda 5hp to my Hurley 22 electrics.

Can I just run them straight to the neg and pos terminals on the battery or must it go via a diode or something.

thanks nick

Yes, I hope so anyway, as that’s just what I do.
I have a Honda BF8 and it’s connected just as you describe.
No regulators or smart stuff. It’s been like that for two years.

If it is a BF8, it will produce a maximum of 60 watts. They are designed to be connected direct to battery, but as said above, its good if you take the feed to a fused Junction Box, and then onto battery switch. I also used to have a cigarette lighter direct off my junction box.
