Battery charging and isolator switches

Before altering any electrics, you need to do a complete wiring diagram. It's not easy and involves a lot of crawling into dark cavities, waggling wires and getting your head into confined spaces but well worth the effort. Make a diagram of all switches, fuses and electrical equipment and see what's connected to what (and what size cable).
If you can post it up on here, you'll then get plenty of advice.

Yes, thank you, I have made a tentative start.
The problem is that as well as the boats original electrics, multiple owners have made their own little "improvements" over the Years.
I must admit that although it's proving immensely frustrating, I am slowly getting a lot more comfortable with it all and the nest of spaghetti is starting to make a little more sense!
