Looking for a charger unit for AA & AAA batteries, but it has to be a 12v powered one, not the normal 240v. Does anyone have any recommendations
please? :)

I got mine from Jessops for about £15. It has an adaptor that you plug into the mains ans supplies 12 volts BUT it also comes with a car adaptor for using from a lighter socket.

Look for a charger that charges each battery separately. Some will only charge 2 or 4 batteries together trying to fill them with the same amount of AHrs.

The other option is a hobby charger. These will charge almost any battery (lithium, lead acid etc) over a wide range of sizes and voltages. Very versatile and they will give you detailed information about voltage AHrs in etc. They all run off 12v, but you have to use or make a battery holder so it may not be what you are looking for.
This is an example of a good one, but you can get much cheaper Chinese copies if you don’t want to spend much.
