What battery chargers do people recommend. I have 2 batteries:- 1 car size as a starter and the domestic of about 100a/h.
Cuurently (sic) looking at either 10 or 20 amp Sterling, at around £130-£180 mark.

I think the Sterlings are the best buy at the moment and Charles knows his batteies. Have a word with them on his website, you'll get good advice. FWIW, IMHO
 
Just arrived in Barcelona, now offshore for a month, will get it sorted this time out, you will be hearing from me. For sure. Rhanks for all your help so far. You could probably sell this guy 1 or 2.
 
Sterling 12V 20Amp just found at little local chandlers in Chatham, now has my name on.
Now all I've got to do is fit it, install the tube heaters and stat. and it's all ready for winter....

Oh and find a dehumidifier!

Why do you want a dehumidifier Jim? I've got a portable (just about) AC unit
which I used to dehumidify my old P32 when she was on the brokerage waiting
for a buyer. Your welcome to take a look at that. Dont know the consumption
figures but you could tell.
My charger is very good its a Constavolt, but dont know the cost already on the boat.

Where have you been Clive expected a call from you when you were ready for assistance?
Not sure how damp the boat will be this is the first boat ever where I've left a boat in over the winter, normally its been out and onto the trailer and home over the winter, so have tube heaters awaiting installation and was told that Homebase have a small dehummer for £99, it will have to be small to fit on the drainer to drain into the sink. How big is the a/c unit?
As regards the charger I don't have a vast amount of room in the engine bay and the Constavolt is quite chunky and probably overkill for a couple of relatively small batteries.

There's a cheap dehumidifier for £89 at Homebase at the moment. Go to
www.homebase.co.uk and do a search on LF2000

I just bought one from B&Q for £147 that has Hot Gas Defrost but if you are already heating your boat you probably don't need one that works down to 0 degrees
