at last found somewhere I an fit a four, but it means building a ply wood battery box to fit in with the rest of the wood work, its going to house two 110AH seal acid batteries , the question is will a few small hole say 2cm in the front of the box with a SS cover over the holes be enough ventilation for the batteries? .
it will be venting into the cabin

As long as the holes are high enough to make sure any hydrogen can escape upwards, I would have thought that a couple of 2cm holes would be fine. They're sealed batteries so gassing should not be a major issue. :)
