My battery storage space is ideal on the domestic side for a bank of 3 85A leasure batteries instead of 2 110A
What are people thought on this what will be the performance factors, as to use 2, I would have to modify the storage area

Thanks

The more the merrier...

Not sure I quite understand your question, but it's a fact that the bigger the boat's battery capacity, the more efficiently it will all work. If you can fit 3 x 85Ah batteries (255Ah total), you'll be better off than having 2 x 110Ah (220Ah total).

I can't think that there is much in it - the 3x85 gives you a bit more capacity for about the same price - and the individual batteries are lighter, and therefore easier to move around.

I can't think of any benefit of the 2x110 apart from marginally simpler wiring.

If 3x85 is easier to fit then go with that

As well as being easier to move around, if you ever have one battery go down, with 3x85ah, at least you will still have 2/3 of yr capacity remaining, 170ah as opposed to 110ah. I believe that the technical term is greater redundancy!
