I have a 3 battery bank of 110ah Powermax batteries, lead acid type, and one has failed after only 2 1/2 yrs, looks like a cell has gone tits up, only showing 9.0v after recharging, they are permanently charged by a Rutland 913 with regulator, plus alt charging by an Adverc management system and 80A alternator..
Not impressed and they were at a discount price so 1 yr guarantee.
Was I stitched up, reputable chandler, etc, but , can I replace with a gel type alongside the other batteries or should I replace the whole lot, we are fairly heavy on power usage and on a swinging mooring so recharge is only by wind gen or standby generator, or engine.
previous boat had Freedom batteries, no problems at all.
