As the south gets another great day up here in Scotland they are now forecasting winds to gust to 80mph and heavy rain....still waiting for Summer to start....back to work tommorrow after 2 weeks off and sods law looks like a nice high moving in once this low goes through!! :-(

Reminds me of the comment by a Faroese sailor I met in Lerwick. Replying to an enquiry about summer weather in the Faroes, he said: "Last years was great - I remember it well - it was on July 15, if I'm not mistaken."

But you must have been a bit slow coming out of hibernation - parts of June and early July saw lovely weather on your West coast.

Bit Blowy

Just seen 'Somerled' a Sunfast 37 school boat go past. They had difficulties earlier when the small jib was blown out of the roller groove. Now got their orange storm jib up and deep reefed main and are banging downstream past Cloch..... and it's hell of a wet too!
