This hit here about 6 hours ago and still strengthening. . .

Significant power and travel disruption here.

Do not no what the wind strength was here last night ,on the isle of white, I had put an extra warp on yesterday, but sometime after midnight with the existing warps creaking I decided to put another one on :) just to be on the safe side, being on the Medina river with a south wind comming straight down, not the best time for an unexpected trip.

Consistency in references, please!! (N.B. Guilty of that myself!)

We're in the eye of the low at the mo. Not a breath. Makes a change from the 95kts we had the other day, and pressure of 935mb.

More to come for all of us, I gather. At least two more big lows out in the pond.

Don't understand your point? Re:consistency? Just saying what the wind was, at Aberdaron at 0700, which is the nearest reporting station to our marina. The link showed where data came from

Hope its behaves in Scotland.....I believe there is some damage in Hafan Pwllheli, we came back yesterday, having gone down to put extra lines on etc.

Drove down to Port Dinorwic this morning arrived at nearly six am....... Played dodgems with all the emptied rubbish bins which came up the road and took off over the car. Waves were breaking over dock gate and our boat had just about lost our temporary cockpit tent. Couple of burst fenders, stanchion top has worn a bit of a groove in the grade 2 listed dock wall. There was no power and no mobile signal available expect the power to be off for some time.

Back home now!

Standard for PD even in the summer........... :encouragement:

Tom.
Wasnt just the Dock Tom. I think there is some major supply problem. Never seen such wild conditions up there...

Phil and Liz said it only went off last night at 11.00.

Planning to take something over for them tomorrow just in case the eleccy is still off.

Sure was windy last night, just a drop of rain too!

i guess in a southly the wind funnels down the river valley there. Could almost be tempted to swing the boat round so bows into the wind on the pontoon!
