Hi,

Does the navionics app contain tidal calculations for all points on the chart, secondary ports or just primary (with the old fashioned difference calcs)? Also is there a tidal atlas on there or just the diamonds?

I have a chartplotter and paper charts by the way but do fancy an app as the iPad is so user friendly for non-critical navigation.

Thanks

Tony

I believe the answer to your question is (a) no, it's not all over the map - just at the diamonds, (b) secondary ports are included, and (c) there isn't really a tidal atlas, but the <c> diamonds show current flows and act in a pretty similar way.

Am happy to be corrected on any of that, mind...

On the chart there are C and T diamonds in various areas.Place the cursor cross on the T and you will get a separate page showing tide strengths and direction. You can scroll along the graph to see it change.
Cursor cross on the T and you will see a separate tidal page with a graph which again you can slide along to show heights of tide at various times.Tap on the details page and you will see HW/LW for that port for about 3 days in advance.
