Basic First aid Kit

That horse has long bolted! :p

Inaccurate rumours about me nodding off on longer legs with the Autopilot on, or my unique "moor by impact" berthing technic should be ignored.
As should stories about crews of other nearbye boats rushing out on deck with large quantities of fenders on news of my impending arrival. After the wash has died down.
Is it my fault if my crew are useless and unable to mind read !
Ps, some of the plasters in my old first aid kits had 2005 use by dates.
They were still usefully sticky and did put one in to service.

Mega strong coffee if your really stuck....adrenal / sympathetic nervous stimulation is all you’re after with anaphylaxis .

Hadn't thought of that. However could be a probem if airway restricted, which as I recall is a common problem from anaphylaxis.

I would surmise the amount of Sympathetic stimulation you need goes beyond the output of the adrenals - after all if someone’s in anaphylaxis they are already going to be in a stressed sympathetic state rather than calm parasympathetic.

Top tip from a friend who's a small animal vet: Things like wound cleansing spray, dressings, and other frequently used patch-you-ups are the same things, but much cheaper to her.
Eg, a 1/4 the price. It doesn't matter if the label has a happy smiling pig on it, if the instructions say 'suitable for all mammals' then that would apply to most yacht crew!

You can't be serious, AED in a small boat, not far from shore?
I suppose it depends where you are and who you are taking with you.
While it might seam like overkill, they are becoming commonplace In businesses.
Who Knows. might be me who needs it.

Some years ago, I was in the unfortunate position of needing one, Coast Guard brought one out to us in a RIB.
Despite our efforts and the GC assistance, I took to long, when landed he was pronounced on arrival at the hospital.
He was 48. Significantly younger and fitter than I am today.

My recent basic first aid course. demonstrated how to use one.
Admit, I don’t carry one on my own boat, if I take a small charter out. I would prefer to have one. Haven’t needed one since.

One more thing to add to this list is an Oximeter, great bit of kit and cheap as chips.
