Base of Mast Construction?

Hi,

Would anybody know what the construction of the base under the mast/tabernacle as shown in the pic would consist of please?

It's on my Westerly Pageant (1977) and we're looking to fix to it but have no idea what it is built up of?

Usually a block of hardwood,removing one of the deck sockets and looking down the hole might confirm it.

They are usually marine ply. Quite possibly rotten by now. Anything that has deck sockets through it will likely have had water ingress over time
