we have a 1935 motor sailor and would like to fit a barge rope around her to reduce the scuffs she gets in locks. The only boat in the marina withone fitted is a small clinker dingy with it laced around the gunnel. As this is not suitable for our boat can anyone tell me how to fit one and where to purchase whats needed thanks

Have seen such a rope attattched with electrical cable ties as well as being glued to the boat. Why dont you buy thick rubber bumper-type strip say 2 or 3 inches thick. I would expect it to last longer than rope and would not show dirty marks.Go to a boat jumble where you will find what you might want.

Check out Vetus...

Vetus sell a special rubbing strake profile which is designed to accept an 80mm rope and hold it snugly in place.
