I fitted this remote control to the boat today ,
045-1.jpg

Works perfectly up to 20 metres ( and its buried under the lower helm )
I know its not boat spec but with a spare remote thrown in all for the price of £19.95 whats not to like:)

Thats good to hear . Hopefully things will be a lot less stressfull for SWMBO when going into an unfamiliar berth as i will be able to pretty much do it single handed .

We have the same and use it to control the anchor winch. So far been an excellent purchase. :)

We also have one for the windlass, 2 or 3 years old and works perfect. Only slight thing to watch, there is a tiny delay between letting the button go and the windlass stopping. Not an issue unless you're parking the anchor on the roller, in which case i stop it fractionally short and finish off when back at the helm. Won't be an issue at all using it with a bow thruster.

I put mine on an old outboard lanyard so i don't drop it over the side.

Nice idea andy. 12v or 24v or both?

A nice trick would be to do a jpg of a new decal (just in micosoft paint, say) and get someone like funky monkey to print in colour. Then carefully trim new decal to shape of old using old as template, then you'd have a very pukka job for an extra £ tenner. Perhaps print the decal landscape not portrait and label the switches port and starboard, etc?

They do 12v or 24v for the same price John . The label idea is good , I will see what funkymonkey can come up with as i need some other bits doing as well .

Top left black box is radio receiver , the other black box with nuts on top is thruster / windlass contactor . The red wire is 12v+ feed to the radio reciever relay , the black is neutral / 12v- . Ignore the hanging blue wire , thats the aerial . The white and brown wires are the port / starboard - up / down 12v+ in Bigwows photo . If you are stuck let me know when you do it and i will connect it for you .:)
