It's the most exciting week of the year here in Trieste, with the holding of the Barcolana regatta, supposedly the largest in the Med basin, with up to 2000 boats competing. All sorts of boats and crews too, from day-sailers to America's Cup competitors. Plus a jamboree on shore. The race itself is often a huge waterborne picnic, except for the keenies up front, but in the past two years has had 40-knot winds which rather woke people up!
