Have any forumites got recommendations for a marina in the region Barcelona / Valencia? We are looking for a pleasant marina with good boatyard facilities, for a two or three week stay in June next year.

Not really. Only sailed in that area once, for a week's charter, so wasn't interested in "boatyard facilities" (thank goodness!). And that was from Barcelona northwards, see http://www.mjcoon.plus.com/page44.htm. The boat was from http://www.gotlandcharter.com/. Their website (apparently not updated for 2013, so rather stale) identifies their base as Port Olimpic in Barcelona which is where we picked up the yacht.

But my recollection is that the marinas we visited were all very leisure-oriented and would not have dedicated any space to boatyard facilities for which one would presumably have to go more out-of-town.

San Carles de Rapita midway between the two. Owned and run by MDL. Rather remote and not too good for local day cruising but town is delightful. Excellent boatyard services, moderately priced.
