well yesterday Volvopaul kindly squeezed in a job on my gearbox which has meant that, all things being equal, the oil will remain within the gearbox rather than be distributed in the bilges.

It will also mean that we will be down on the boat this weekend (so long as my back continues to behave itself).

So plan on Saturday....well looking at XC weather I think we might stay put in Hamble... but Sunday we are off to Yarmouth for the night....:)

anyone else got any plans?

no plans yet James other than getting the boat back in the water too.. taking the 4x4 down to get the boat in from around 11am Saturday at the slipway under the Itchen bridge, so should be back in the berth by lunchtime after a quick blat around to test things are ok... that's as far as the planning's gone.

great news that you've got the gearbox sorted:cool:

Nipping up to Gatwick, small strip search, make the most of a final proper beer, jam myself into a seat, put on noise cancelling head phones, wake up in Malta, wait around for bags to turn up, find the man with a cardboard sign.
Did I mention,I'm going on my Hol's ? :D

Ditto!

....if your blat extends to Mercury pop in and say hello...

weather looks (at the moment, although it does change every 30 seconds!) like sunday / monday will be ok ish... but its a bank holiday so we plan to make the most of it..!! :D

Well we have the whole week off so we'll be on the boat. No fixed plans, just take each day as it comes and hopefully the weather will be better than predicted! Sheer bliss!
L
:)

hi all .... well, to throw my "four pennies worth" in, the earliest i could get there is monday evening, BUT, (although im off all week), im staying at home untill i see a weather forecast worth the tow down!!!!.......ho hum ................................ ..... well, you did ask !!!!!

Well i was thinking about going down to give the old girl a bit of a clean up but not sure i can muster the enthuasium given the weather!

Glad you seem to have sorted the leak. hope the weather is better than they predicted!!

Taking delivery of our new (to us) Broom 41 at Norfolk Yacht Agency tommorrow (Saturday) :-)

Been a long and tortuous journey over the last year but we have got there at last so whilst we would hope for good weather there isn't much that could dampen our enthusiasm right at this moment!!

Being boatless saves money but life just isn't the same :-)

Congratulations Greg, from our conversation, sounds perfect for you requirements. Hope you have many happy times on her.

It will be a momentous weekend for me, I should be taking possession of Merlin and beginning my adventures with her.

The previous owner was very reasonable in agreeing to reduce the price of the vessel to accomodate the repairs that will be necessary to bring her into service.

Happy days :-)

Well done, not too sure where you will be but if there is anything that I can help with re Falcon 27' s then please let me know. Perhaps we could arrange a Falcon 27 meet if there are sufficient around the Solent area. Good choice :)

Yarmouth for me and Jacaranda tmro night. Breaking with my diet in style by drinking a gallon of cider and champagne (not in the same bucket) followed by steak "on the rocks". A nod to the diet might be fillet instead of ribeye:)

Had enough of not going out for the last upteen weekends, so planning to be down Sunday and Monday (seems to be the best weather window). Do some last minute jobs on the boat and probably pop over to Cowes Monday for a few hours. The weather looking just about okay. If sunday looks too good, it will be sod the last minute jobs and off we go.

My boat went back in today. I've had her polished, serviced, leg rebuilt (ouch)
new dashboard cover, pretty much all the 'list' ticked off so yipee, new season and Bank holiday here we come.
Plops her back in the water today and onto her new berth ready for the weekend's fun. Time to bring down the tender that's been stored at home and inflate it and get it secured on the bathing platform. This signals pretty much the end of the ' to do list' :)
Go back to the boat 2 hours later to find the dinghy's totally deflated on one side despite being perfectly OK last year when put away.

Well, that's definitely the start of the season....first job on the 'new never ending list of things to fix'

Hopefully will get out for a blast somewhere in the Solent. Look out for a V40 with a tender that looks somewhat out'a shape

Good to hear from another Falcon owner. I noticed that there was talk in an old thread of a falcon owners club, but the link seems to be dead. It might be worth setting up a new one :) Sorry to thread drift.
