Bank Holiday Weekend -any plans

Holed up in Island a Harbour tonight. Two magical days so far having met up with friends. Weather not an issue! Heard a rumour that the wind is dropping tomorrow so may have a BBQ at Newtown before journeying home. Hope everyone else is having a good one,

we have stayed at Island Harbour and its been a few years since i last came here. Its still a nice place to visit and they are improving the facility's which nice to see but they have built on the grass area where there used to be room for camping and an bbq area. The wind has dropped off so it should be a good trip home back to langstone. I hope every one has has a good weekend apart from the weather.

Well best made plans and all that, Sunday we left Hythe, got down to Hamble and the sky's turned black so we went back to the sunshine of Ocean Village.

Saw "Thanks Mum" coming down the Itchen so stopped for a quick chat. then met with Gary for Lunch... now when i say lunch what else was there to do when than drink beer looking out at boats...

Monday morning was mostly lost to the hangover so a blast to the Lifeboat in Cowes for a burger was necessary!

Starting to get used to the boat now, its great having trim tabs of a rib, you can really get it flying level and true.

Monday morning was the best bit of the weekend... sunshine at Island Harbour for about two hours. We had a BBQ in Newtown Creek.. not the warmest but good fun all the same. To cap things off, we saw Thanks Mum heading back home (?) as we returned to Burseldon. We are not down to the boat for a few weeks now so expect some good weather!

Well, we pootled off to Lymington YH sat morning to meet up with a few friends. Had a pleasant, chilled afternoon then off for a curry in town in the evening. Sunday...another leisurely stroll into town and some obligatory shopping courtesy of Henry Lloyd and Crew :D :D then off for a rather delicious meal at The Haven in the evening which was heaving!!! All finely finished off with a few drinkies (again...obligatory) aboard friends' boat. Bloody marvellous even if the weather was sh*te. Monday morning...blasted back to Swanwick about 10.30 in contrasting, beautifully flat, calm water and sunny weather.

We snuck past you on Monday evening Lisa. You had the laptop open and I thought you might even be on the forum!

I was in newtown creek! Obviously both blind as bats. Were you moored next to a new style largeish S thing?

And we did go to St Vaast :). Think we were probably lucky to have Monday's weather window to come back in, though - without that 12 hour lull it might have ended up an expensive ferry job! Will try to be a bit more flexible in future...
