Yup, the filter is after the lift pump and before the injector pump.

Yes, of course. He did say "as per the manufacturers installation sheet." though, so i guess they knew what they were doing. It's a common setup on some Thornycroft engines that i've seen.

Just wished to make the point.

My setup has both filter/water separators before my lift pump and twin change over filters between the lift pump and injector pump.

1 filter/water separator for each of my 3 tanks and a twin change over set up for my finer secondary filter setup.

I have that same self bleeding arrangement. Worked well I had some air getting in but self bleeding worked except when idling for long periods.
