I have a few boats ranging in size from 10 foot Blow up SIBS, Speed boats and the largest being a 24 foot Sealine S24. 11 Boats in total I think but because of their variety I dont know which ones to count
After being let out we decided to give one of our smallest boats a run at our local River the Deben in Suffolk UK.
So it costs us £18 a year to keep the little Sib in the Dingy park of the boat yard as our tender to our swinging mooring.
Our Sealine S24 Costs about £2,000 a year to keep in the Marina on the Norfolk Broads.
I know many of you will be paying many Thousands to keep your boat in your various marinas.
While I know in some ways I am not comparing the same thing but I am comparing the same thing in as much as having enjoyment out on the water.
In short we had an amazing day out yesterday plodding along at 4 Knots and also zipping along at 14 Knots with the little 9.8 hp outboard on the SIB. It was also zero stress and worry (I always have a level of stress and worry when I take out our larger boats).
I am simply musing about the fun you can have for peanuts with a small SIB and outboard. You can beach and picnic in so many places and the lack of stress is lovely..................... This said I will still keep my larger boats
