Is there 1.9m on the visitors pontoon in Banff marina?

I think there were some recent restrictions due to quay damage? There is I recall a slight tide problem at the entrance. We couldn't go in with 1.8m keel then, so went into Buckie and rafted up on a fishing boat. Went to Chinese restaurant -average.

I've had no reply to texts to the published mobiles for Banff or Macduff marinas, so any local knowledge would be great before I arrive in the area on Wednesday

Have you tried this number *07770 646115? The HM is also HM for Macduff due to restructuring. There was a recent dredge but I’m not sure that it was totally successful. Duncan Mackie is doing HM duties I think his number is 07747020496, he should be able to help.

Go to Whitehills. The harbourmaster, Bertie, is a really helpful chap. Nice Pub/Restaurant/Fish& Chip shop nearby.

Marina is tiny with tight entrance but HM very friendly

No but I spoke to the Macduff HM who is looking after it. I visited on foot from Whitehills and it is definitely small and shallow,

we visited in 2016 and despite being told on phone by HM that there was enough water for us to get in ran aground on sand bar between entrance walls = luckily little swell round the wall and tide rising so after worried minutes over the bar and then fine - were not impressed with HM's obvious lack of knowledge of the depth in the entrance - ps also visited whitehills and Bertie and granddaughter made us very welcome - recommend it and the fish and chips
