Baltic mooring advice required

I see. I shall go and ask Richard Woods. He sailed in a flotilla of three Striders to St. Petersburg. Day sailed too, so they must have made plenty of stops.

Thanks I remember reading about that trip! Anyway to the OP: I have resorted to banging six inch nails in near the top of the piles, easier than having your loops sink and jam. I saw a German do it and thought why not?

Bugger off back to the warm places where they belong :D

(Don't remember ever seeing a catameringue in Denmark or Sweden)

I'm based in the Baltic and would agree with you!!!! VERY rarely do we see a Catamaran cruising past...

Seriously, there seems to be a few on here coming out to the Baltic..... bugger off;) I like it 'quiet' here!!!!!

Mooring with poles is not a problem as long as you take it slow. As soon as you get your nose in, a lot have rope from pole to jetty, grab the rope on the windward side & pull yourself in.(I wouldn't go stern to) Attaching the stern rope on the same side, then cast a bight over the other one. Poorly explained BUT easily done I assure you:D
