balearic mooring leases - 2018

Do you have a mooring lease in adriano currently?

I dont fancy portals, its no cheaper, but much busier (i dont want busy), santa ponsa seem to have a few suitable moorings,a bit cheaper than adriano. Weve kept boats there before and its fine.

Not quite sure how this will play out, maybe there will be a glut of moorings available in adriano in july

yeah - thats currently what I'm inclined to do.

If anyone gets any info that could help, then please post it in this thread, I suspect it will end up being useful to more than just me.

Julian, do Adriano have many 10m moorings (I was told that they don't).

Also, I wonder if they will take the opportunity to make more berths for larger (super)yachts at the expense of smaller ones (like ours).

There don't appear to be many 10m moorings available at present, but maybe that situation will change if they're going to start charging some current leaseholders a rent from July this year.

I don't think they'll be able to convert the smaller moorings to superyacht moorings as the design of the marina won't allow for it without serious structural work.

I think you will find Adriano a few Euro more than St Carles!

When i asked for a 21m boat it was E54k plus electric etc. Adriano along with Portals are roughly double the price of anywhere else on the island.

Both have restaurants etc and Adriano has jugglers at the back of your boat ( it did cost me E500 for the night so it was good to get something!)

Is it really double the price of anywhere else on the island? Thats not how it works out for the smaller moorings, i think i could get mine 15% cheaper in santa ponsa just round the coast, certainly not half the price.

Maybe the larger mooring are mucb more scarce?

Ps they didnt have the jugglers last summer

We keep our boat in Alcudia and I went into the marina office yesterday to try to get some info on what’s happening, I was told the marina are currently dealing with all the paperwork with the various authorities and they are expecting to to get there paperwork sorted in the next couple of months. Then when the current agreement ends at the end of September I was told our mooring fees will rise approx25% !!
They did say that when there contract is sorted they will begin the upgrade to the facilities that they have been promising for the last two years. They will start with pantalol 1 and work up eventually to 7 where we are so we face another summer of an inconsistent electrical supply backed up with generators that they have to hire in to support the normal supplies. I asked if we will be getting a decent WiFi system that was meet with a smile ..
on the plus side if you have a 10 m boat they have plenty of moorings and you may have a upgraded pontoon quicker than us

This was summer before last i think.

They had about 8 acts going around the marina - jugglers, singers, fire eaters etc so there was alot of entertainment. They did a circuit so the restaurants and also in front of the boats.

However E500 pays for a lot of beer!

We ended up paying E24k in Cala Dor but they wanted E54k! Club De Mar ( could not find a berth) was a similar E25k ish figure. To make things worse someone told me they were desperate for punters and there would be a deal!

Whenever I have looked at Portals or Adriano they do seem roughly double the price. This was for a 21m boat, and i am now 18m.

We pay a little over €3000k (inc VAT) a year for a 12m mooring in Sant Carles. I could probably squeeze it onto a 10m mooring and get it even cheaper but I prefer to have a larger berth.

Portals would cost us €7000 (excl VAT) a year as you can get a T34 on there at a pinch (and also a T38 I'm told).

For us, the price difference between SCM and Portals would be doable, particularly split three ways. I believe Adriano was more expensive than Portals for 10m moorings but I wondered if that was due to them having very few available for rent. If the leases are ending then it's not impossible that the price would be closer to that of Portals, hence my interest.

P.S. We are on a rolling 4 month contract in SCM so aren't committed for a long term.

I am dumbfounded that you can stick it in Portals for E7k! That is plus tax so E8500 but I would still assume more.

Are lighthouse fees, navigation fees, water and electric included ( I believe I know the answer ...)

I used to pay E7k for my Targa 40 in Club De Mar 5 years ago ( 12m) and that was a private let.

Take the berth and pay the man.

Thanks Paul. There's no annual fee quoted so I would assume it's 12x the monthly fee except it says "During the months of July and August there is no monthly fee". Does that mean for a year it's 10x the monthly fee plus the daily charge for July and August?

No it’s the monthly fee x12. Plus vat. Plus light dues which are paid annually

The light fees at Portals are not that much, be careful about some marinas they can be very strict & measure carefully, some even add fenders onto beam measurement and don't allow a cm over berth size!
