All,
I have confirmed today that Sue Wells, Project Manager at Balanced Seas will attend the East Coast Forum Fitting Up Supper on April 9th at the Green Man Bradwell.

Project Manager – Sue Wells

Sue grew up on Chichester Harbour and learnt to sail in her father’s home made dinghy. She has extensive experience in marine protected area management. Recently, she spent five years in East Africa, working on projects that involved local communities, fishermen and other stakeholders in marine protected area planning. Many of the issues she encountered are similar to those faced by stakeholders in south-east England and she will bring this experience to the MCZ work.

She will be on hand in the late afternoon and will give a presentation before dinner at the Green Man, followed by a question and answer session, whilst allowing us all time to socialise as well.

I hope that we will be able to take on board the plans and aspirations of the MCZ proposals, and to give Balanced Seas our view - not normally heard - the ordinary leisure boating community. I hope that learning is reciprocated by us as well. We have much to learn I think.

There will be no other interests represented, such as RYA or other bodies, so the floor is ours.

I believe this event will be fairly unique, and I am looking for questions which might require a little research to be put here to allow preparation.

I would think that anyone who is not coming to the dinner, but would like to join in the presentation/discussion will be welcomed, but we will have to watch the total numbers.

Well done Jim. I think the presentation etc should be for those coming to the supper as it could be overcrowded and detract from the event. It's a big enough step to have something serious going on.

goodo.

with my event organisers hat on - is she giving a formal presentation? does she need equipment? What time? If you find out I'll make the arrangements at the pub. (unless you want to do it).

Can people let me know if they are attending the talk, but not the dinner (just in case numbers change significantly).

thanks
