Bainbridge D-Type Anchor

Has anyone used the above? Just looking for opinions/experience of these particular anchors. Interested as they're Delta copies and half the price

So where or how have they cut the cost? Will you be confident using the cheaper product?

Google doesn't seem to find any technical info about the anchor. The Delta is made from a manganese steel that has high strength, as a result bending of the shank is very rare indeed. I suggest that the most likely way in which big cost savings could be made would be to use a lower spec steel, which would inevitably be less strong.

That may be good enough for your purposes, light use, weekends only, inland, etc but for more serious anchoring I prefer the best I can buy. Even my Delta is now demoted to spare, as the new generation anchors have proven better performance.

Thanks - good idea to check the material spec. I am always interested in whether you're paying for quality or paying a premium for a name.
