I wonder if someone out there can point me in the right direction?

We are planning a trip to Great Exuma in the Bahamas, next feb. We are flying into Nassau and then need to get to Great Exhuma.
We are taking two weeks but could be longer if necessary.

Question: Is it better to fly on an internal flight to exuma & then get a yacht? are they even available? or is it better to sail down from Nassau?

any advice or pointers would be much appreciated. also any charter companies that would help.

thanks

My knowledge of Great Exuma is five years old. However, there is a small airport there, with regular flights to Nassau. I do not recall any major bare-boat charter operator based at Georgetown, though there are any number of skippered charter yachts and sport fishing boats based there. A cruise from Nassau to Georgetown and back, taking in a number of the Exumas on route, would make a pleasant fortnight vacation. Favour a shallow draft yacht which opens up the 'inside passage' over the bank to the west of the Exumas and many interesting anchorages.
