baffled by bilge water

Don't know if you have a calorifier, but mine just drained into the bilge from the overflow pipe. Apparently this is a common method of getting rid of the water. I now drain it into an old plastic container and then empty it regularly.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions.
I reckon TCM has got it though - it's the EX wife who's the culprit plus that rat boy on the Sainsbury's checkout who I used to teach.

Rat Boy will have another trick. Monday - s/s nut at mast base. Tuesday, ditto washer, Wednesday, ditto bolt. You will have neck strain peering through binos looking for the missing piece of vital rigging. Rat boy will be observing from a distance whilst comforting EX wife.

I know - I WAS rat boy!!

Could be tcm's right; my swmbo says that if she ever comes down to the boat, it will be with a drill.

Anchor pipe & chain locker?
My last major water incursion was fresh water from tank piping, but I also had several litre of diesel in the bilges on two occasions until it was spotted that the tank had a small hole corroded in it.
