Bad elf iPad gps.

I'm very keen to purchase one of these.

I'm not sure how many people know about these in the UK I was looking for one at the boat show. Although Navionics had heard of them they didn't know of any UK suppliers.

In the next few weeks I'm going to purchase one and hopefully report back here with my opinions.

If anyone has used one please feel free to share your opinions.

Errr - I thought the latest iPhones and iPads had GPS built in. So why spend a hundred bucks buying another one?

If you have the 3G enabled ones, yes you are correct. For wifi only iPads you need a wifi signal to get your position.

I have had one for about 12 months on an iPod Touch. Works very well with various charting apps once it gets a GPS fix.

Shame I'd need to buy yet another charger to charge my iPad up.....Grrrrrrr

$100 for a GPS dongle? What a rip off!

They should be about a tenner as no one needs them any more due to pretty much every device on the market having GPS built in.
