Sonning Moorings

'Ow much they chargin fer the Uri Gs moorings these days - think it was about a tenner last year - supposed to be for some charity.

Have the camera ready....

In fact there was a 37 crown look alike type thing on the towpath yesterday that had so many fenders, I was convinced he was going to bounce off.

I think I know it, vaguely remember the name is something to do with old money in that it means "half a crown" as it was not fitted by Broom.

Dont get him talking, you wont get away..

13 fenders down each side.

They do not lift them between locks...

as there is not normally enough time!

Would have been cheaper to ask Avon to make a couple of big tubes to go down the sides rather than buying all those fenders, he could call it a rib then...

I am sorry to have to report that it looks like we may have lost this one. In spite of the massive majority who voted in favour (44 for, 3 against) the EA believe the notice's removal was in the best interest of promoting a professional appearance at the lock sites.

Yeah ..... like this then ????? Took this picture last Friday morning at Temple Lock - don't they know its August already?

So much for listening to your customers :-(

Let's strip all the character out of the locks and make them as faceless as a motorway toll booth, that will encourage more boaters
