''ere' I said, coming thru Temple on Sunday morning. "What's happened to the fun notice about needing to give lockie a bacon sarnie if he can smell the makings as we pass through the lock?"

'Had to take it down" they said "didn't conform to a standard EA notice, see"

'" 'ave you still got it?" I said. "Yes" said "they"......

"OK, sez me..."Ill see what we can do about that then"

So guys please vote accordingly..........

Totally agree Tony, let him put the sign back. Little things like that add character to the river and help demonstrate that the lockies are human and not the droids the EA would like to have!

What about the sign about "the bald head being a solar panel for a sex machine"?

Has he still got that one?

dear oh dear oh dear, rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic...

What a pity when I was going downriver last week I had told my buddy about the sign as he was about to start cokking bacon sarnies :-) wondered what had happened to it, such a shame

Obviously it isn't an EA notice, you would think that HQ would Llow them to have a bit of fn and inject a bit of humour and help make The Thames a charecturful place, it needs all the help it can get! I'll see if I can get the vote thingy to work off my iPhone, even though it should be a no brainer...

At Goring tonight and heading to Sonning tomorrow, I think I better make sure I have the sun screen on given the forecast. Are there any shops in Sonning as planning on staying a couple of nights and watchng the football on Wednesday as both England and Australia are playing. Trying to figure out how to squeeze a meal in at The French Horn...

simple answer is no, and nothing closer than the petrol station out on the A4, so you're better boating or walking to Tesco near Reading, or taking what you need with you

And hit the islands further downstream, but that does not answer your football questions. Henley is your best bet for that in fact the last time I watched the world cup final was in Henley and I think France won....

Thanks, made a call to The Bull and glad to say they have the game on. Staying at Uri Geller's moorings. He walked past and bent a spoon for us, very nice chap. French Horn for lunch, then football, sounds like another idyllic day on The Thames.

And just as you say that, two people come along and spoil your fun. Perhaps there are a couple of silent EA folk on here...

Cancelled lunch at The French Horn in the end as there was no eating outside, and no shorts allowed, so thought sod that. Lunch at The Bull was excellent I must say, and a beautiful pub as well. Off to Hurley today to stay at the fancy new moorings.
