Hi have made up the Backing plates for the 1.5" Blakes Seacock for the Head Outlet as recommended from a sheet of Marine Ply.

A) What is the best treatment for the Marine Ply to stop it rotting???

B) The Install guide reccomends bonding the plate in place given that the plates are secured by 4 bolts is this absolutely nessacary???

Regards

Glassing it in makes it part of the boat and basically maintenance free.

Or stick iy down with Sikaflex type sealant/adhesive and paint it with bilge paint.

Highly unlikely they will rot. If you get enough water in the bilge to cause that you really are in trouble. Just bed them in sealant and paint the edges in Danboline if you have the tin open.
