Hi All,
Many of you may not remember me as i sold my Princess V40 about 4 years ago and retired from UK boating with a large hurumph...
No idea how...but, in November i was suddenly taken all nautical and so about 3 weeks ago i somehow become the proud owner of a 02 Princess 45..Santa has a lot to answer for..!
Anyway, having avoided the icebergs on delivery, she is now safley tucked up in St Kats and I am gradually working my way through the list of systems and nooks and crannys trying to remember what was it i used to find facinating about this stuff..and i remembered the fantastic fun we used to have on the Upper Thames...ideal for an easy re-introduction to this way of life.
So, am planning to move up to our old stomping ground of about 10 years ago (the upper Thames) at some point in the spring. I got the charts out (ok the little booklet thingy) to refresh the grey matter and find out how far up we could go (this being a flybridge instead of a sports boat) was thinking Clivden would be the end...BUT...was amazed to find Hammersmith! was marked in the booklet thingy as 12ft 2ins.. However, this is at MHWS so will def be more room than this.. . Our P45 is 12ft 8in or 4.18m to top of radar mast (ses in the brochure, so need to add the radar bits and prob a foot higher)...ok will get the tape measure out next time i am there.....
Anyway... was just about to break open the old yachtmaster manual and spend hours crunching calcs and double checking etc... and then thought i would take a more sociable route first and ask the forum...
So..whats the best timing from St Kats..anyone with a fly bridge got any top tips? obviously will probably still spend hours doing calcs etc....but its nice to know where to start...
