Baby Blake toilet, HOW MUCH???

£3,659.99!!! Is this for real? For that price I could buy 36 Jabsco's (one of which I installed 2 seasons ago with no problems). I'm 45 years old and should I sail til I'm 90 that means I could install a brand new Jabsco every 14 months for the price of a Baby Blake, and that's assuming the Baby Blake would last, without service parts, for 45 years. Going for a large drink!

very good toilets ive had mine for 50 yrs now and as far as i know its never had new seals.
but it is a lot of dosh. even the seal kit is very dear.

But very repairable. I just used stern gland packing on mine when the pump shaft seals gave up. Cost about a fiver.

That wouldn't convince me to have one in my boat!

They are probably individually made, by hand, at the rate of one a fortnight.

We inherited ours when we bought the boat. The service kit costs as much as a new jabsco!

Indeed. Easier to have 2 spare jabscos in a locker, to replace as needed
In this world of plastic throwaways and bronze becoming "precious" metal for jewelery... Who builds a boat to last 50 years? More like 5, enough for charter work anyway.
Same goes for Taylors cooker - 2000 for two burners ?

All the customers in the yard where my mate kept his boat called the yard owner "Baby Blake" - 'cause he was a right s**t. He never picked up on it and wondered why this particular bit of kit had such bad rep... Priceless!

I have one and I am very happy with it: it matches perfectly the classic design of my boat. Indeed the price of the new is appalling and also spares are quite expensive but, fortunately, very seldom needed. Occasionally people sell theirs on e-bay so I had the opportunity to build a small collection of spares paying a very reasonable price.
The first time I noticed the price of a new unit I was convinced there was a typo: there is no justification for such prices and I would never buy a new one.

In case anyone is reading this thread my father has a Blakes Baby to sell. Striped, cleaned, refurbished and rebuilt and all in good order. Originally fitted in a Weymouth 32 (Halmatic Gosport). All offers will be considered and I promise you it will be considerably cheaper than buying new! If only authentic will do, then this is the loo for you! The one proviso is that this being a heavy awkward item you would need to collect from either him or me (Rickmansworth or Milton Keynes). Hope this interests someone out there. Can supply photo if required.
