Well its approaching that magic time where I head down to Nice and our boat. As usual I can guest 1 person into the BA Gold lounge at T5 tomorrow 2 Jul. I will be there about 6pm. PM if interested.

Free champagne for all!

I book very early and this year have got all my flights on points. BA prices aren't bad when you get in quick and for me its the closest airport and as I commute through there weekly I have parking sorted and have a 'happy place' routine I get myself into when ever I drop my car off.

Mcaaderson I'm on Friday BA flight this week so will miss you by 24 hrs. Then off to Corsica.

Your lounge posts intrigue me though. I have the normal stack of cards for lounges including that one at T5, but I've never in my life PLANNED to be in a lounge. Imho the ONLY times to use a lounge are connection layovers, when the plane is late or your own travel turned out better than you thought so that you UNINTENTIONALLY arrived early at the airport. If you PLAN to be in a lounge (absent the layover thing, which doesn't apply here) you need to stop and think don't you? :D:D

JFM,

I can see your logic, but I generally fly late Friday night flights so I try to cut away from work and be in T5 by 7ish. This gives me two hours to have dinner and a couple of small glasses of the Tatinger Rose. I don't control my own diary enough to say when i will be able to leave work on the Friday so I hedge right.

Tomorrow I booked my flight 6 months ago, will definately be able to get to T5 at 6 and rather than drink pink champagne on my own - offer the chance for another forum member to join in BA burgers and boat talk.

Now when I leave home to return to work on a Sunday night then I cut things fine, sometimes too fine!

Planning on Cap D'Ail for a long lunch on Saturday, probably VF for Sunday.

I have the same dilemma, I'm always tempted to waste a few hours before heading to the airport, but I'd have some explaining to do if I missed a 10pm flight home ;-)

The only one I plan to be in is the T3 Virgin lounge. I quite enjoy a couple of hours chilling, playing pool having a massage and if need be a haircut. Eggs benedict are the norm and if on holiday then a few bubbles. Always good for star spotting for those on the early LA flight. In fact the Hoff once took my favourite seat ....

Not to mention getting your shoes cleaned......................
