B is for Boat

Good grief. This showed up in my YouTube feed. A guy buys a cheap 30 year old Riva and then bodges it up. Words fail me.

https://youtu.be/UN8mSCAWE9E

After watching I realise he also has a wrecked Lamborghini that he is repowering with a corvette engine

Lol, I watched it last night! Yup, Carlo Riva will be turning in his grave.

Loved one of the comments that sais it's the sort of boat / owner where the boat is discovered going round in slow circles with no sign of any life. Or the other comment "Dude, you are sailing a boat, driving a Lambo and dating a redhead; life is good. Enjoy bro!!!".

And he hit his neighbour's boat.

Yep, saw it a couple of days ago.
The table he made was down right nasty!
He had an interesting take on using an iPhone instead of proper nav kit, what could possibly go wrong......

Highly entertaining.
Well put together vid .

Could do with more get up and go glass 1/2 full kinda guys on this forum :encouragement:
To offset the doom and gloom steady Eddie guys .:)

It was all a quick temp fix for the tight deadline and all reversible .
Great boat those Tropicana 43 ,s but only one cabin to sleep .I looked at them coming from a stern dive S/Skr .

At the time I was 1/2 interested the engines I researched are wet liners and the cylinder liner o ring / gaskets deteriorate if the coolant is not changed .

I would look there for the smoke symptoms.
It’s a rebuild job, big job .There is a kit you can buy to test the coolant for sump and combustion contamination.
When I discovered that my enthusiasm for aged K 903 ? Evaporated .I did not want to leave outdrives VP aged woes for something else bigger !

I really like the video !

Plain and simple ... let's give this project a try and see what happens :-)

- and a little side note: the algorithms at YouTube are on track.... too many of us here "just happen to have seen" the video !

Been a few car youtubers buying boats recently. I think they are doing it to try and drive more views, its clearly working! The last year or so has been very much rinse / repeat on youtube. Buy smashed up Ferrari / Lambo and spend 3 months bodging the rebuild and then let it gather dust in the corner after as its worthless.

I'm not the only one who follows Tavarish, Samcrac, vTuned garage, etc then!

Yes I watch most of those and a few others like Hoovies Garage and Harrys Garage. In fact I would have thought Harry M would have been on here as I know he is in to his boats.

Now Harry's Gararge is well worth watching :encouragement:
He's got some amazing cars in his barn and he's not afraid of using them.
Using his Ferrari Testorosa to fetch his outboard engine back from the med was brilliant!

I really enjoyed his enthusiasm and the joy of just deciding that he wants a boat and then just getting stuck in and doing it. Sure, he isn't going to restore the Tropicana to its former glory, but he's damn well going to have some fun. $500 per month mooring in the prime marina sounds pretty good, although I don't think I would want to be moored next to him for a number of reasons!
