B&G windspeed/direction

I went up to the mast head and retrieved the unit as the windspeed thingummy was stopped. Light oiling did not solve the problem.

Can anyone recommend a supplier of a replacement unit?

Speak to Tinley Electronics in Lymington, they can rebuild the masthead unit.

i removed the bearing and rinsed it in hot water. this dissolved the salts and crud and freed it up for me - for a while. After a few months it was bunged up again so I eventually replaced it. replace the o ring and perhaps tape it up to prevent stuff getting in around the edge.

The previous owner of Freestyle kindly left a spare on board labelled "B&G masthead unit bearing". What surprised me most was the price label - £60 or so.
