B&G Sonic Speed transducers

I’ve had differing opinions on whether to antifoul these - TPO says not to, but ISTR reading the opposite opinion somewhere. I would have thought that a coat of antifoul would have less effect than a bit of slime/growth. Any direct experience for or against?
