I'm going to install two new B&G triton2 displays, replacing two old simrad wind instruments. The old displays are daisy chained with other simrad instruments. Is it possible to daisy chain the triton2 using two simnet-nmea2000 cables or do I have to to use a drop cable to the simnet multi joiner box?

Thanks for your advice,
eyolf

The Triton2 only has a single connector on the back, so daisy-chaining isn't an option. You can break open the N2k bus anywhere nearby and use T-connectors (and a short N2k drop cable) for each display. Otherwise you're stuck with Simnet drop cables (check length restrictions) to the nearest Simnet multi-joiner hub.

Note that you will need different cables for these two options to go from the Triton to the old (yellow) Simnet connectors on the hub - as the cables are quite costly, the most sensible option is probably defined by which cables you already have :)

Thank you for your reply Yngmar. Do you know if it possible to have the two displays connected with drop cables and t-connectors, and a single drop cable (N2K to simnet) to the simnet joiner hub (in ordner to save some cable cost....)

It would most likely work, but is against the N2k spec. I wouldn't recommend it as it could cause difficult to diagnose bus problems later on (when you or future owners have forgotten all about that little shortcut).
