Is there any simple explanation as to why my analogue displays (close hauled, wind direction, wind speed and boat speed) have stopped working, yet the digital displays on the 2 FFDs and the single 20/20 display are still working........so I know its not an issue with the masthead wand or depth and speed transducers?

thanks in advance for any help!!!

regards

As i understand it if you switch the the digital digital displays to wind, speed or depth the digital these display the correct values. This means the transducers are working and the core computer is processing the information
It is very unlikely the wind, speed and depth analogue displays would fail at the same time. So the displays are fine.
The digital displays use a fasnet connection. The analogue displays use a simnet connection.
There are only two possible places of failure.
1. The core computer is defective and is no longer transmitting the correct simnet information (but is still transmitting the correct fasnet information)
2. The simnet wiring, or a connection between the computer and the first anologe instrument is not making proper contact. As all the analogue instruments are daisy chained together a single failure of the wiring here will take out all the analogue instruments.

Number two Is easy to check and is the more likely.

The analoge gauges on the Hydra H3000 are daisy chained and reasonably sure the previous Hydra 2000 was also daisy chained.
The instrument pod are often not as waterproof as people imagine. I have revolved a few a to see water pouring out, so it a common place for connections to develop corrosion.

Asumining they are daisy chained a final fault mode is a failure of the first gauge to pass on the information so it may be worth connecting the start of the chain to another analogue gauge.
